Alan’s Friday Ride

Colchester Cycling UK Secretary, Alan Palmer, runs a weekly Friday morning ride aimed at “improvers”, leaving 10 am from the Cycle Champions container at Leisure World in Colchester.

The destination and route is decided on the day depending on wind direction (we ride into the wind so that we are given wind assistance on our return) or who turns up on the day. If a new rider were to come and not be sure of the distance they could do, we will offer a shorter ride. Distance between 20 and 30 ish miles.

An informal and friendly group of people who take it in turns to lead, not covered by any insurance.

Mike’s Monday Ride

Mike White runs a weekly Monday morning ride in the same vein as Alan’s Friday ride. Leaving 10 am from the Cycle Champions container at Leisure World in Colchester, rides are generally 25 – 30 miles and around 10 mph.

An informal and friendly group of people who take it in turns to lead, not covered by any insurance.

Thursday Evening Ride

Our friends at CTC Suffolk run a Thursday evening ride (formerly known as NEWTS), leaving Tenpin Bowling in Colchester at 7:30 pm. It usually lasts a couple of hours and finishes at a village pub.

Ride Leaders

If you are a competent cyclist and would feel comfortable leading a group, please consider helping us. Our Secretary, Alan, will happily check your route for you and, if available, offer support on the day.
