Earls Colne Ride Report

Four Valleys and Two Golf Courses

Twenty-three turned up at the container at Colchester Leisure World for the day’s ride. Malcolm set off with 22 of the riders assisted by Des, another ride leader. Alan did his usual Easy Rider ride. The elevenses was at the Brett Vale Golf Club in Raydon just over the border into Suffolk.

The ride to lunch at the Colne Valley Golf Club at Earls Colne, would pass through no less than 4 valleys: the Brett, Box, Stour, and Colne. The ride passed over the Brett at Shelley bridge, after passing Alan just past Shelley Priory Farm, the Box just before Scotland Street, Stoke by Nayland, the Stour at Bures over the bridge and back into Essex, and passed over the Colne after Colne Engaine. Ten of the group went on to lunch meeting up wth 4 already there — Les & Gill with their tandem along with Sarah and Mary. Alan arrived a bit later making 15 in total for lunch.
