Stratford St Mary Ride Report

September 28, 2014

This was the alternative ride to the Colchester 100 that gave riders the opportunity to do an easier paced ride. Eight riders left Colchester (four from Tiptree/Kelverdon area) for the elevenses stop at Beth Chato at Elmstead Market. We were met at elevenses by Keith Scott with Barbara, his stoker, on her tandem. Barbara being partially sighted this gives her the opportunity to take part in a ride. We were also joined by a rider from the over the border Suffolk Group. This made a total of 11 riders out (2 Tandems) between elevenses and Lunch at the Anchor.

On the ride we past a lot of cyclists (coming the other way) doing the St Helena Hospice ride, which explained the lower numbers out this year on the Colchester 100. It was good to see a lot of cyclists out enforce on the day.
